Itqan Clinical Simulation and Innovation Center
The Itqan Clinical Simulation and Innovation Center is a state-of-the-art education and training facility located on the Hamad Bin Khalifa Medical City (HBKMC) campus of Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) in Doha, Qatar. It is one of the world’s largest simulation centers and the largest facility of its kind in the region. Itqan Clinical Simulation and Innovation Center was awarded Provisional Accreditation status for Teaching/Education by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare in January, 2023.
The Center is transforming clinical education and training in Qatar by providing healthcare professionals and students with the opportunity to develop and refine their technical clinical skills as well as improve clinical judgment, prioritization, communication and teamwork skills.
The Itqan Clinical Innovation and Simulation Center supports HMC’s strategic objective to be a thriving and integrated Academic Health System which makes significant, positive impacts upon patient care, health professions education, and medical research. The facility supports and fosters translational research, seeking to advance research knowledge and clinical innovations more rapidly from “bench to bedside.”
Accreditation by the Prestigious Society for Simulation in Healthcare
Hamad Medical Corporation's Itqan Clinical Simulation and Innovation Center was granted provisional accreditation by the prestigious Society for Simulation in Healthcare in recognition of the developmental efforts of the Center and the simulation and education programs provided.
This state-of-the-art education and training facility is the first in Qatar to receive such an accreditation.
