Critical Care Areas
The Critical Care Area within Hamad General Hospital (HGH) provides care to all types of critically ill patients who require close monitoring or intensive care. Care is provided according to their unstable
hemodynamic status (blood movement) diagnosis. Trauma and Surgical Intensive Care Units are located on the Ground Floor; the Medical Intensive Care Unit is located on the sixth floor on the South Side of HGH. Critical Care Units work closely with other Intensive Care Units and all specialties in HGH and Hamad Medical Corporation for the transfer, admission, discharge, referral, diagnosis and treatment of patients. Within critical care, approximately 180 patients are attended to each month by our highly trained teams.
