Who We Are
Hamad Trauma Center serves as Qatar’s national trauma referral centre and is among the busiest and most advanced trauma facilities in the region. Key leaders include Dr. Hassan Al Thani, Head of Trauma and Vascular Surgery and WHOCC Director, Dr. Sandro Rizoli, Medical Director of Trauma Services, Dr. Ruben Peralta, Associate Medical Director of Trauma Services and Director of Trauma and Critical Care Fellowship, and Dr. Rafael Consunji, AED of Clinical Services and WHOCC Administrative Director supported by a multidisciplinary team of surgeons, critical-care physicians, simulation specialists, researchers, and educators.
Core Areas of Collaboration with WHO
1. Trauma Referral Pathways: Evaluate and strengthen national and regional trauma networks.
2. Training and Education: Develop and deliver WHO-aligned educational modules, from prehospital to rehabilitation care.
3. Community of Practice: Create a global network of trauma professionals to exchange expertise and accelerate innovation.
