The Scientific Planning Committee invites submissions for the 10th Qatar International Mental Health Conference, taking place from 16 – 18 April 2026 at the Grand Hyatt Doha. We welcome abstracts for workshops, oral presentations, posters, research projects, quality improvement initiatives, and mental health and wellbeing programs that enrich the scientific program and contribute to advancing mental healthcare locally, regionally, and internationally.
In alignment with this year’s theme; “Beyond Boundaries: Advancing Mental Health Through Science, Culture, and Collaboration” we encourage submissions that highlight innovation, cultural responsiveness, interdisciplinary collaboration, and scientific advancement in mental health.
All abstracts should
not exceed 300 words.
Submission Topics
Submissions may cover any area relevant to psychiatry, mental health, or wellbeing, including but not limited to:
- Innovations in mental health care
- International best practices in psychiatry
- Psychopharmacology and clinical advances
- Cultural psychiatry and culturally responsive care
- Mental health service planning and development
- Interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary service models
- Quality improvement in mental healthcare
- Mental health awareness and anti-stigma initiatives
- Local and regional research efforts
- Digital transformation, AI, and technology-enhanced care
- Community mental health and recovery-oriented practice
- Medico-legal and Ethical aspects of Psychiatry
Presentation Categories
1) Workshop Sessions
Scheduled for Thursday, 16 April 2026
Workshops are 3-hour interactive sessions designed to facilitate active learning through discussions, small-group exercises, case-based activities, or role-plays. They must focus on a specific issue relevant to mental health practice or service development.
Requirements:
- Must include interactive elements (not a lecture).
- At least 25% of the session must be dedicated to Q&A or group engagement.
- Maximum team: 1 chairperson + up to 2 co-presenters.
- Workshops may be conducted in English or Arabic (authors must select preferred presentation language).
2) Oral Presentations
Scheduled for Friday and Saturday, 17–18 April 2026
Oral presentations are 15-minute sessions that highlight key findings, service innovations, case studies, or research outcomes.
Abstracts should be concisely outlined:
- Aims
- Methods
- Relevance
- Results
- Discussion/Conclusions
Tables, figures, and references are not required and should not be included.
Symposium Format Guidelines:
Duration: 90 minutes Structure: 3 speakers, each presenting for 25 minutes, followed by a 15-minute joint Q&A Proposal Requirements: Symposium title and theme Names of proposed speakers, Professional stream of each speaker, Brief outline of each presentation (2–3 sentences) Intended learning outcomes for participants.
3) Poster Presentations
Scheduled for Friday and Saturday,
17–18 April 2026.
Poster presentations provide a visual and interactive format for sharing research, clinical work, and service initiatives. Posters will be displayed at the venue’s foyer throughout the conference.
Expectations:
- Posters may address any topic relevant to the conference.
- At least one author must be present during break times to engage with attendees.
- Detailed sizing and mounting guidelines will be provided upon acceptance.
Language of Submissions
- All abstracts must be submitted in English.
- Exception: Intensive Workshop Sessions may be delivered in Arabic or English. Authors should clearly indicate the chosen presentation language.
