Dr. Muna Al Maslamani is the Assistant Head of Infectious Diseases Division – Medicine Department at Hamad General Hospital, Hamad Medical Corporation in Qatar. She is a Senior Consultant in Transplant Infectious Diseases for the Division.
Apart from clinical responsibilities, she holds various administrative and academic positions in and outside HMC, namely Vice Chairperson for Quality and Patient Safety–Medicine, Fellowship Program Director for Infectious Diseases, Associate Program Director for Transitional Year and also as Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine in WCM-Q. In 2010, Dr. Al Maslamani was appointed Chairperson of the Medical Research Committee and Vice-Chairperson of the Medical Research Center. Dr. Al Maslamani is a member of various hospital committees and the Infectious Diseases Society of America, Transplant Infectious Diseases Society and Immunocompromised Host Society.
She is a role model who is committed to improving the quality of patient care and takes necessary steps to motivate others to do the same. Her role as a sponsor for the Clinical Care Improvement Training Program (CCITP) of Quality Division has produced 27 Quality Improvement Projects to date. She received various Intramural and external research grants and was able to partner with international researchers in conducting clinical research with 38 publications so far.
