Diabetes and Endocrine disorders are prevalent in the Middle East and Gulf countries. In Qatar, Diabetes prevalence is about 17%. Our mission is to provide high quality service by highly qualified and specialized staff.
The mission of the Diabetes/Endocrine Division is to prevent diabetes and its complications through health promotion, patient education, professional training, treatment and research. Our service is provided using ethical standards, technology and continuous quality improvement.
Our vision is to create a center of excellence for Diabetes and Endocrine founded on the pillars of Healthcare, education and research. Hence Diabetes Mellitus Prevalence is about 17% among Qatari population therefore our objective is to educate the community about diabetes and manage the diagnosed cases and prevents diabetes complication.
We also aim to be internationally recognized integrated Diabetes Center acclaimed for excellence in health care, education, research and quality, and play a premier role in the sustainability of health in Qatar
We established the National Diabetes Center (NDC) with its three branches: HGH, Al Wakra and WWRC to provide multidisciplinary care for patients with diabetes. The centers are accredited by Clinical Care Program Certification (CCPC) from JCI in 2019 and recertified in June 2022.
We established and will continue to improve our Urgent Clinic service which allows patients who need the urgent care to be seen within two weeks.
