Dr. Mahnaz Mousavi is the Director of the Student Wellness & Counseling Center at Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Qatar, having established the Center in 2006. She earned her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio, USA and maintain a license in District of Columba, USA. She has also earned a postdoctoral master’s degree in Clinical Psychopharmacology from the California School of Professional Psychology in California, USA and is BCIA Board certified in General Biofeedback. She obtained her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Iran University of Medical Sciences in Tehran, Iran and was a faculty and a researcher in a medical university and practiced in the university clinic.
Dr. Mousavi has published a book on childhood abuse in Iran, has published research in peer-reviewed journals, and regularly presents at conferences. Lately, many of her contributions focus on multicultural counseling and counseling university students.
