Ahmad Abutaka, MBBS, CABS

Dr. Ahmad Abutaka, is a Clinical Fellow in Acute Care Surgery at HMC. He finished his surgical residency in 2018 at HMC, and is Board Certified general surgeon from the Arab Board of Health Specialization (CABS). 

Dr. Abutaka is interested in surgical critical care, minimally invasive surgery, and colorectal surgery. He has led multiple quality improvement projects and is an active member of the perioperative quality improvement team of HGH. Dr. Abutaka is coordinating the rotation of newly joining clinical medical students from Qatar University in Acute Care Surgery. He serves also as a counselor in the American College of Surgeons - Qatar Chapter.

Dr. Abutaka has served as the administrative chief resident of general surgery for the year 2016 - 2017. He was a member of the program evaluation committee and the resident representative of the Internal Review committees of ACGME-I accredited programs.

After he finished his internship in Jordan Hospital, Dr. Abutaka joined King Hussein Cancer Center in the transitional year program of surgical oncology for one year before joining HMC. He has been awarded the President’s Scholarship for being one of the top 10 students in the High School Certification Tests in Palestine.
