Division Chief - General Academic Pediatrics - Sidra Medicine Weill Cornell Medicine - Qatar
Dr. Ahmed Al Hammadi is the Deputy Chairman at Hamad Medical Corporation, Division Chief of General Academic Pediatrics at HMC and Sidra Medical and Research Center, and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar.
He is the Director of the new Multidisciplinary Program in Qatar caring for children with technology-dependent and medically complex conditions (Pediatrics Complex Care Program) which offer coordinated care that spans the inpatient and outpatient divide. He has strong interests in medical education and supervises residents on the pediatric wards and clinics, while also serving as an Assistant Program Director of Pediatric Residency Program.
Dr. Al Hammadi has completed his Pediatrics Residency Training at British Colombia Children Hospital (BCCH) in Vancouver, Canada in 2008;General Academic Pediatrics Fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada in 2010. He has worked as a General Pediatrician on staff at Hamad Medical Corporation Qatar since 2010 when he was appointed as a Division Chief.
Dr. Al Hammadi was appointed to the Examination Board of the Pediatrics Arab Board in 2011. He is a member of American Academy of Pediatrics and Canadian Pediatrics Society. Due to his leadership and managerial skills, Dr. Al Hammadi was appointed as Deputy Chairman of Pediatrics Department at Hamad Medical Corporation Qatar in 2014.
Dr. Al Hammadi’s areas of expertise and main research interests are in Pediatrics Inpatient Care, Outpatient Ambulatory Care, models of care for Children with Complex Chronic Conditions and teaching different learners in multiple busy clinical setting. He has many publications related to vaccine, UTI in children’s, medical education and other general pediatrics topics.
