Dr. Khawla Ahmad
Head of Training and Education, Health Systems Improvement (HSI), Hamad Healthcare Quality Institute
Dr. Khawla is a holder of a Health systems improvement expert with more than 30 years track record of commitment to public service and patient care; involving clinical, administration and academia.
Holds Doctorate Degree in Business Administration with specialism in Quality Management, Masters Degree in Education and Bachelor Degree in Nursing. She is Dartmouth Institute Microsystem Academy (TDIMA) Certified Level One Coach and American Institute for Healthcare Quality Certified in Healthcare Risk Management (CHRM).
Khawla has initiated/activated different systems improvement and patient safety programs: Infection Control, Risk Management, Patient Satisfaction, Hospital Quality and Patient Safety Programs. She led organizational level strategic plans and participated in designing the quality structure in healthcare organizations. Effectively contributed to the initial accreditation and continuously supported the corporate readiness for the JCI accreditation at HMC.
Currently; Khawla is Acting Assistant Executive Director – Quality Improvement at Hamad Healthcare Quality Institute where she leads different improvement capacity and capability building programs and support improvement initiatives at HMC and national level. She leads the Masters in Public Health Program/ Health Systems Improvement concentration (MPH/ HSI) in collaboration with Qatar University
