Dr. James Laughton

Dr. James is currently the HMC Ambulance Service Group Head of Clinical Governance, Risk Management & Quality Improvement.

His interests include the Deming's System of Profound Knowledge, Model for Improvement, Statistical Process Control, High Reliability Organizations, Machine Learning, and Human Factors. Previous experience included Medical Director roles in the UK Pharmaceutical Industry and clinical roles in the UK National Health Service.

The fundamental 'Lean' principles of respecting people and continuous improvement have been his major influence. Dr. James enjoys encouraging others to experience the joy from an improvement mindset.
