
Hans-Christoph Pape is the Director of the Clinic of Traumatology and Professor at the University Hospital Zurich since February 2017. In particular his research in the topics of multiple trauma, pelvic fractures and severe joint injury helped him to gain a high international profile. In the years 2005 to 2009, he headed the Orthopaedic Department at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh, United States. From 2009 to 2017, he was Director of the clinic for accident and reconstructive surgery of the University Clinic of RWTH Aachen University.
Prof. Pape was elected to the head of the Science Committee of the German society of accident surgery (DGU) for the period 2015 to 2018 . He was also for the period of 2015/2016 elected President of the European society of trauma and emergency surgery (ESTES). Furthermore he directs the trauma group Société Internationale de surgery Orthopédique et de traumatology (Bertrand). He is also a member of the founding Committee of the orthopaedic trauma Association (OTA).
Prof. Pape is first author of over 130 and co-author of over 250 scientific articles, plus multiple book chapters and abstract presentations, Prof Pape’s work was awarded multiple times by different organization worldwide.
