Dr. Naser Al Ansari graduated medical school from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 1990. After one year of internship in Beaumont Hospital Dublin, he started his training in Medical Microbiology in Ireland for 3 years followed by 1 year of master’s degree in London, then 5 years training as specialist registrar in medical microbiology in Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge in the UK.
He obtained his MSc degree in Medical Microbiology from London School of Tropical Medicine in 1995 and membership of Royal Collage of Pathologists, UK in 2001. He got his certificate of completion of specialist training and registered in the UK Medical Council in their specialist list.
He returned to work as a Consultant in Medical Microbiology and Infection Control Doctor in January 2003 in Hamad Medical Corporation and since then he has taken various appointments including: Chairman of the Laboratory in HMC, Chair of Research in HMC, Medical Director of Hamad General Hospital, Medical Director of Al Wakra Hospital and Chairman of Infection Control Committee for HMC.
He was a member of the National Committee for Prohibition of Weapons and the Chair of Biological Weapons Subgroup for several years and represented the State of Qatar in the United Nations meetings.
