Using Simulation to improve healthcare practice


Workshop information: This workshop is aimed at anyone interested in exploring how simulation can be used to improve patient care. It will be of particular interest to anyone with an educational remit or wanting to test new processes, or even conduct research.

Learning Objectives:
  • Discuss what is simulation and how it can be used to improve patient care
  • List the various commonly used simulation modalities and identify which is better suited to what type of learning objective for their learners 
  • Consider how simulation can be used to test new processes or even conduct research
  • Explain the difference between debriefing and feedback
  • List different commonly used debriefing models
  • Design a basic simulation-based educational activity
  • Describe the resources and expertise accessible at the Itqan Clinical Simulation and Innovation Center and how they can book the facility
