Dr. Shatha is a fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists (UK), graduated from Mosul Medical College in Iraq and completed her training in Iraq and the UK .
She joined Hamad Medical Corporation in 2003 after a great deal of experience in clinical imaging and medical education in Iraq and UK. She is the Chief of the Emergency and Trauma Radiology Section in HGH since 2006 which under her leadership received an Excellence in Radiology 2014 Arab Health Achievement and Innovation Award for their entry entitled "The Emergency Radiology Service in Hamad General Hospital. This award is presented to the organization or department that has made the greatest contribution to the field of imaging and diagnosis.
She also has an extensive clinical and teaching experience spanning more than four decades in Iraq, UK and Qatar and is currently core faculty of the Radiology Residency program (ACGMI accredited), Program Director of the Trauma and Emergency Radiology Fellowship since 2010 and a Member of the Radiology Clinical Competency Committee and the Radiology Program Evaluation committee. She is also the Chairperson of HMC’s Radiology Department accreditation and Quality Improvement Committee and a lead member of Corporate AOP Radiology since 2006.
