
Dr. Nick Scott
Dr. Nick Scott is the Vice Chairman of Anesthesia and Perioperative Medicine at Hamad Medical Corporation in Qatar. Formally, Dr. Scott was a Consultant Anesthetist at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital, Clydebank in Scotland. Dr. Scott is a fellow of both the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh and the Royal College of Anesthetists. He has combined both qualifications with a major focus on perioperative care throughout his career. His interest in regional anesthesia and pain management began when serving as an Astra Clinical Fellow in 1986 to 1987 while working with Professor Henrik Kehlet in Copenhagen. His research developed within this field, especially in central neuraxial blockade. Dr. Scott has published and lectured on analgesia, accelerated rehabilitation, enhanced recovery, quality in anesthesia and outcomes after different surgical procedures. From 2009 to 2012, he was a member of the Scottish Executive Working Party on delivering enhanced recovery packages for orthopedic surgery throughout Scotland.
Dr. Scott is also the immediate former President of RAUK and a former Board Member of ESRA.
