Maurice McCreary Jr, FACHE is currently the Acting Chief Executive Officer of Hamad General Hospital, a 600 bed tertiary care and teaching healthcare facility which is the flagship hospital for the system. Mr. McCreary leads the executive team and manages the hospital with the medical director and the chief nursing officer. In addition to day to day control of hospital operations, he directly manages all clinical and non-clinical support services departments, facilities management and new construction projects. Previous to his current role, Mr. McCreary was the Executive Director of Hospital Operations of the same hospital where he was additionally responsible for the clinical and non-clinical departments and the deployment of the Cerner Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Additionally, he serves as the chair of several committees including those required for Joint Commission International accreditation.
Mr. McCreary earned a Master of Business Administration from University of Maryland, College Park, Maryland. He completed the Advanced Management and Leadership Program from University of Oxford Said Business School, Oxford, United Kingdom. Mr. McCreary is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, and member of many healthcare professional committees.
