Dr. Alaedine Shurrab
Senior Consultant Nephrologist

I graduated from medical school from University of Malta 1991. I worked in general medicine as a junior doctor and moved to United Kingdom in 1995. I obtained my MRCP in 1996. I joined the nephrology training program in the Northwest deanery - greater Manchester and obtained the certificate of completion of training (CCT) in 2004. I worked as a consultant nephrologist at Salford Royal Foundation trust between 2004 and 2014. During my training I did research in atherosclerotic renovascular disease, and I obtained a medical doctorate from University of Manchester. I was the nephrology training program director at the Northwest deanery 2010-2013. I moved to Qatar in 2014 as a senior consultant nephrologist and head of nephrology services at Al Khor Hospital. During this time, I have overseen the expansion of the dialysis services at Al Khor hemodialysis unit, and I have been involved in the medical student teaching (Qatar University)​
