The main plenary speaker is
Maureen Bisognano. Maureen is the President and CEO for the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI). She previously served as IHI's Executive Vice President and COO for 15 years. She is a prominent authority on improving health care systems. She advises health care leaders around the world, is a frequent speaker at major health care conferences on quality improvement, and is a tireless advocate for change.
Some of the great speakers you will also hear from include:
Derek Feeley, Executive Vice President of IHI – who prior to joining IHI was Director General for Health and Social Care and Chief Executive of the National Health Service (NHS) in Scotland. In this role he was the principal adviser to Scottish Ministers on health and care issues and he provided direction to the work of NHS Boards in ensuring the delivery of high-quality health care.
Lynne Maher, PhD, leads on the field of innovation, exploring the practical application of new processes, methods, tools and techniques to achieve transformational change for health services. She has a particular interest in Capturing, understanding and improving the patient experience.
Kedar Mate, MD, who is an internal medicine physician, an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College, a Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School's Division of Global Health Equity, and a faculty member of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI). Dr. Mate has overseen the development of innovative system designs to implement high-quality health care both in the United States and in resource-limited settings abroad.
Uma Kotagal, MBBS, MSc, Senior Vice President for Quality, Safety and Transformation, Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center; she is a neonatologist who has a strong interest in health services research and considerable experience in developing related research projects.
