Ahmed is a Fellow of the RCoA and the Faculty of ICM, London. He accomplished advanced training in Anesthesia and ICM and attained dual UK-GMC accreditation. In 2011 Ahmed was appointed Consultant Intensivist and Anesthetist at the Mid Yorkshire Hospitals, NHS Trust and Clinical Lead for ICU at Dewsbury and District Hospital, West Yorkshire before moving to Qatar end of 2013. He investigated extracorporeal liver support in the form of single pass albumin dialysis (SPAD) at Leeds Teaching Hospitals and co-wrote several chapters in ultrasound textbooks. Ahmed’s main interests are patient safety, sepsis and ECMO. He is Sepsis Chair and the Aeromedical Lead for Hamad Medical Corporation.
