Ed Jebson
Transformation Portfolio Manager, Guy’s and St Thomas, UK
Ed is a Portfolio Manager in the Guy’s and St Thomas' Transformation team and is currently the
Lead for the Trust wide ‘Fit for the Future’ Academy building transformation & improvement capability throughout the organization. With a program based on Lean Healthcare principles he has trained over 100 clinical leaders and managers at all levels, coaching and mentoring to achieve successful project delivery.
Ed is one of the lead faculty with the Essentia team supporting the development, delivery and evaluation of the Hamad Medical Corporation Flow collaborative in Qatar.
After joining Guys & St Thomas’ in 2010 Ed has led a variety of improvement projects including patient discharge from hospital, outpatient transformation and bed management. Ed was the Transformation lead on an outpatient improvement program and successfully project managed the opening of the trusts New Gassiot House outpatient center, including the technology development and implementation of a patient self check-in and call forward system. As a transformation coach in the Outpatient Patient Experience campaign he coached and supported teams to implement practical steps to improve patient experience in their areas. Ed has led the use of a Rapid Improvement approach to defining new streamlined integrated care pathways and is supporting the subsequent delivery program, developing the Trust’s approach to Rapid Improvement from this.
Ed has a degree in manufacturing systems engineering and a post graduate diploma in manufacturing management and technology. Prior to joining Guy’s and St Thomas’ he initially worked in a process improvement and technology integration role for BAE Systems and later worked as a senior management consultant with TEFEN providing Lean and Operations excellence consultancy within the pharmaceutical and transport sectors.
In his management consulting role, Ed worked on both UK and international assignments supporting and driving Lean transformation initiatives within the pharmaceutical sector.
Ed is a Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt, certified through the American Society for Quality, and Chartered member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology.
