Dr. Mounir Atchan is a clinical pharmacy specialist and a clinical lead at the Acute Medical Admission Unit in Hamad General Hospital. He is also an adjunct clinical lecturer and preceptor for pharmacy students at Qatar University School of Pharmacy. He got his bachelor of pharmacy then his doctorate of pharmacy from the Lebanese American University in 2007. Throughout his career, he gained experience in community, inpatient pharmacy, and clinical pharmacy in Lebanon, USA and KSA. He joined Hamad Medical Corporation in 2012 as a clinical pharmacist in general internal medicine then later promoted to specialist in acute medicine. He helped in establishing the Acute Medical Admission Unit last year. His main interests are patient care workflow, patient education, and quality improvement. He has led and participated in many projects with several international abstracts in these areas including the award winning Prevention of Venous Thromboembolism Project. He is an active member of the Lean in healthcare corporate collaborative and is participating in several improvement projects across the organization.
