Dr. Khawla Al Thamneh
Head of Quality Improvement
Health systems improvement expert with more than 30 years track record of commitment to public service and patient care; involving clinical, administration and academia.
Khawla has initiated/triggered different systems improvement and patient safety programs: Infection Control, Risk Management, Patient Experience, Hospital Quality and Patient Safety Programs. She led organizational level strategic plans, participated in designing quality structure and supported readiness of healthcare organizations for accreditation. She developed and led different academic programs in different academic institutions including the Masters in Public Health – Health Systems Improvement stream in Qatar University.
Currently, Khawla is Acting Assistant Executive Director at Hamad Healthcare Quality Institute in HMC where she leads the improvement capacity and capability building agenda across Qatar. Also, Khawla leads and support different improvement collaboratives and programs to design/redesign and develop effective, efficient and safe solutions to support the improvement initiatives at HMC and nation-wide.
