Director of Transformation, Senior Consultant Gynecological Surgeon and Oncologist, Hamad Medical Corporation
Born in Manchester, UK, Jonathan attended Birmingham Medical School. After training in Obstetrics and Gynecology in the West Midlands he worked as the Cancer Research Campaign Clinical Research Fellow for Gynecological Oncology before undergoing sub-specialist training as Fellow in Gynecological Oncology at St Bartholomew’s and The Royal Marsden Hospitals in London. In 1999 Jonathan was appointed as Consultant Gynecological Surgeon and Oncologist at the Liverpool Women’s Hospital. During his time in Liverpool he managed a heavy clinical workload but also worked as the Clinical Director for Gynecology and finally as Medical Director for the Hospital Trust. As a result of his interest in the prevention of gynecological malignancy, Jonathan has served as a member of the Executive Committee of the BSCCP and the National Quality Assurance Committee for Cervical Screening for many years. He was also the Chairman of the British Surgical Gynecological Oncology Group and has published and presented widely in national and international journals and conferences. He continues to review papers and abstracts for international journals and meetings.
In 2015 Jonathan moved to Qatar where he was appointed as the Director of Transformation at the Women’s Hospital, Hamad Medical Corporation, Doha. He continues to practice gynecological oncology and is committed to developing the service provided to the women of Qatar.
