The Dermatology Residency Program at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) is a comprehensive four-year training program designed to develop independent dermatologists who excel in patient care, research, and education. Residents must provide compassionate and effective patient care, demonstrating competence in various dermatology areas:
- Broad Dermatology Knowledge: Competency in Medical Dermatology, Procedural Dermatology, Dermatopathology, and Pediatric Dermatology.
- Diagnostic Techniques: Proficiency in patch testing, KOH examination, photomedicine, phototherapy, and systemic pharmacotherapy.
- Surgical Skills: Achieving competency in biopsy techniques, tumor destruction, cryotherapy, lasers, chemical peels, and botulinum toxin injections.
- Pediatric Dermatology: Management of pediatric skin conditions, including Atopic Dermatitis and Psoriasis, with hands-on experience in diagnostic and therapeutic pediatric dermatology techniques.
2. Medical Knowledge
Residents must continuously develop knowledge in biomedical and clinical sciences and apply this to patient care:
