Program Overview


Geriatric Psychiatry higher training is delivered in a variety of settings over the duration of the three years program for fellows.

Goals and Objectives

  • Teaching in Geriatric Psychiatry fellowship program is arranged twice monthly & the teaching program is circulated by July every academic year.
  • Fellows are expected to present either an audit or a case presentation or a journal paper at their choice as a minimum every academic year.
  • The Teaching program is multidisciplinary, and all other members of the Old Age team are encouraged to teach & participate. 
  • There are a range of Geriatric Psychiatry Scholarly activities including but not limited to Audits, Research, and quality projects.
  • All fellows rotating are encouraged to lead or contribute to a scholarly activity related to Geriatric Psychiatry.

Clinical Training and Key Rotations


Training in Geriatric Psychiatry over three years occurs in the following

Community Outreach Mental Health Visits & Outpatients Clinics.

Inpatients including Acute Inpatients and Residential Care Compound 

Liaison Geriatric Psychiatry.

Medico Legal Geriatric Psychiatry
