Program Overview


Interventional Radiology fellowship program at HMC is one of the prestigious and ambitious subspecialties in Radiology that provides a unique and unmatched educational experience in the expanding field of Interventional Radiology, the program duration is 2 years. The average annual intake is 1-2 fellows.

Goals And Objectives

  1. To provide high-quality and supervised training aligned with the most recent local and international standards utilizing an UpToDate curriculum.
  2. Assist in acquiring the required medical knowledge and technical skills needed to be an independent IR.
  3. Engage in research and quality improvement through daily clinical practice and various MDTs participation.
  4. Develop advanced problem-solving skills by having exposure to a wide variety of procedures and clinical cases.

Clinical training and key rotations


IR fellows will have exposure to the full spectrum of IR procedures through their training according to their competency level, the 2 years training period is divided into 4 major blocks, each block provides different procedure type involvement, starting from basic ultrasound and CT-guided procedures progressing to the more advanced complex vascular and oncology image-guided procedures. Newly joined fellows will have the opportunity to participate in dedicated training in ETQAN simulation center.
