Program Overview
The
Neurology Residency Program at Hamad Medical Corporation is committed to delivering outstanding clinical care, fostering top-tier medical education, and advancing neuroscience research. The program integrates clinical excellence with academic rigor, supported by experienced faculty and the Neuroscience Institute. It ensures residents are trained not only to diagnose and manage neurological disorders but also to become compassionate, well-rounded physicians with strong ethical and professional standards.
Core goals of the program include equipping residents with deep clinical knowledge, strong decision-making abilities, and the capacity for lifelong learning. Through supervised patient care, structured lectures, and research opportunities, residents gradually assume increasing levels of responsibility. The program emphasizes communication skills, evidence-based practice, cost-awareness in decision-making, and effective interaction with various healthcare systems, preparing residents for independent practice in neurology and neurophysiology.
Spanning
five years, the program follows the
ACGME-I curriculum with an additional year required for the Arab Board. The initial 10 months focus on internal medicine and emergency care, providing a strong clinical foundation. With board-certified faculty from the US, Canada, and Europe, residents benefit from comprehensive training in both basic neurosciences and advanced clinical skills, preparing them for certification, subspecialty training, and leadership in academic or clinical neurology.
