In a heartfelt move towards fostering a more connected and collaborative workplace, Heart Hospital (HH) has launched a new Person-Centered Care (PCC) initiative: Coffee Chats with Senior Leaders. This valuable opportunity allows staff to engage in informal yet meaningful conversations with hospital leadership, regardless of their job titles and departmental boundaries.
Through random staff selection, team members from various departments are invited to small-group coffee sessions with senior executives. These gatherings aim to dissolve hierarchical barriers, encourage mentorship, and create a space for open dialogue. Staff are able to share their ideas, express concerns, and receive immediate feedback, strengthening a culture of trust and transparency.
The inaugural session welcomed participation from:
- Nidal Ahmad Asaad, CEO & Medical Director of HH
- Mohammed Al Neama, Executive Director
- Segla Claude Raymond Tro, Assistant Executive Director for Operations and Business Development
Participants represented a diverse cross-section of the hospital’s workforce, including:
- CT Surgery Department
- Cardiac Anesthesia
- Nursing teams from CTICU, Heart Failure, Emergency, and OPD
- Non-Invasive Technician
This first round of Coffee Chats was a promising step toward strengthening staff engagement and reinforcing the hospital’s person-centered values. It encourages open communication, deeper understanding, and stronger team bonds at the hospital.
Stay tuned. Future sessions are in the works, and you might be next to grab a coffee with our senior leadership.
