On arrival at the hospital, visitors should go to the Patient and Visitor Service help desk in the Admitting Department at the entrance to the hospital. It is not necessary to contact the hospital ward first before planning a visit to see a patient.
Visitor numbers
In general, patients may have two or three visitors at a time but this number is dependent on the health and circumstances of individual patients. Adults must accompany all child visitors, please see our visiting times section for visiting restrictions on children under 12.
Patient safety
You should not visit the hospital if you have an active infection and/or symptoms of active infection or have a communicable disease.
Gifts
Flowers, pets, food and live plants are gifts which are not allowed in the hospital, as these items will compromise infection control measures.
Parking
Parking is free of charge for patients and visitors of National Center for Cancer Care and Research. Designated parking spots for persons with disabilities are located in parking areas closest to the main entrance.
Smoking restrictions
As per Qatar law, smoking is prohibited in all public areas, including all HMC grounds. All hospitals within the HMC are smoke free. This smoking restriction extends to all staff, patients and visitors. Any person(s) smoking in the hospital or on hospital grounds will be asked by security to immediately cease smoking and a fine may be issued.
