The inpatient rheumatology service provides 24/7 consultation coverage across all hospitals under Hamad Medical Corporation, including emergency departments, inpatient wards, ICUs and long-term care facilities.

Multidisciplinary Collaboration

HMC’s Rheumatology department is a multidisciplinary service that works closely with other specialties such as MSK Radiology, Pulmonology, Dermatology, Nephrology, Ophthalmology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology. The department also collaborates with physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists,
Immunology specialists and Laboratory Medicine.

Assessing Services

Access to rheumatology services is facilitated through referrals from PHCC, HMC emergency departments, outpatient clinics and private clinics. All referrals are assessed based on clinical urgency and directed to the appropriate clinic.​​
