The Pediatrics Unit in occupational therapy is dedicated in fulfilling HMC’s vision of delivering the safest, most effective and compassionate care for children and families with various occupational needs through interventions targeting health promotion, remediation and restoration, maintenance, compensation and adaptation and disability prevention.
Conditions which may benefit from Pediatric Occupational Therapy services include: - Neurological disorders including cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy and Erb’s Palsy
- Trauma including acquired brain injury and spinal cord injury
- Orthopedic conditions including arthrogryposis and fractures
- Social communication disorders including autism spectrum disorders and Rett’s syndrome
- Intellectual disabilities
- Learning difficulties
- Developmental disabilities

Staff in Pediatrics UnitWe have a diverse workforce that matches the diverse patient population. There are 24 staff in the pediatrics unit. We have staff in our team who are certified in NDT (Neuro Development Therapy) and SIT (Sensory Integration Training). All our staff are licensed under the Ministry of Public Health in addition to home country licenses. Some of our staff are certified under councils from various countries including the United States, United Kingdom and Canada.
