Urology covers the management of surgical and non-surgical conditions affecting the urinary track in both males and females and treats conditions such as kidney stones, urinary tract infections, bladder disorders, prostate conditions, male infertility, andrology, voiding dysfunction, and cancers of the urinary system.

Key Services

Minimally Invasive and Laparoscopic Treatments

HMC offers both surgical and non-surgical treatment options. Minimally invasive and laparoscopic procedures are used to reduce recovery times and improve patient outcomes. Dedicated stone management services use state-of-the-art techniques such as laser lithotripsy and extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWL) for kidney stone treatment.

Uro-oncology

Uro-oncology services at HMC support patients with bladder, kidney and prostate cancers, with collaborative and expert care by working closely with the National Center for Cancer Care and Research (NCCCR) to achieve the best outcome possible for every patient.

Male Infertility

HMC provides specialist male infertility services through dedicated outpatient clinics offering comprehensive evaluation, hormonal profiling and semen analysis. Surgical interventions including Gold-standard microsurgical interventions for male infertility are available when indicated. The unit also collaborates closely with assisted reproductive technology (ART) units for advanced fertility care. The service integrates clinical care with patient education and counseling, ensuring a holistic and culturally sensitive approach.

Voiding Dysfunction

The Voiding Dysfunction Unit offers specialist care for male and female patients with lower urinary tract symptoms, neurogenic bladder, incontinence and complex urological disorders. The unit provides advanced diagnostics, including urodynamic studies, cystoscopy and bladder ultrasound. Treatment options range from behavioral therapy and pharmacologic management to minimally invasive and surgical interventions such as bladder Botox injections, neuromodulation, and sling procedures. Multidisciplinary collaboration with neurology, physiotherapy, and rehabilitation services ensures comprehensive and individualized patient care.

Shock Wave Lithotripsy

HMC provides state-of-the-art extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) services for the non-invasive treatment of kidney and ureteric stones. The procedure is performed by experienced urologists using advanced lithotripters to fragment stones safely and effectively. Patients are carefully selected based on stone size, location and composition, with pre- and post-treatment imaging to monitor outcomes. ESWL is offered as an outpatient procedure, allowing rapid recovery and minimal disruption to daily life.

Andrology Services

Andrology services provide expert care for male sexual dysfunction. Patients benefit from a wide range of diagnostic tools and treatment options, including medical therapy, hormonal therapy, counseling and surgical interventions. The service also offers advanced urogenital reconstruction for conditions such as congenital anomalies, penile curvature and post-traumatic defects. Surgical interventions are performed by skilled andrologists with a focus on restoring both function and quality of life. Comprehensive, patient-centered care is delivered in a culturally sensitive environment.

Urethral Reconstruction Unit

HMC offers specialist urethral reconstruction services for patients with complex urethral strictures and traumatic urethral injuries. The service includes comprehensive assessment with urethrography, uroflowmetry and endoscopy to determine the most appropriate surgical approach. Reconstructive procedures such as excision and primary anastomosis, buccal mucosal graft urethroplasty and staged repairs are performed by experienced urologic surgeons.
