A delegation from Ministry of Interior’s (MoI) Civil Defense Department recently visited and gave gifts to patients at Al Wakra Hospital’s (AWH) Burns Section and the Intensive Care Unit.
The delegation included Brigadier Aman Al-Sulaiti, Assistant Director General of Civil Defense Department; Lieutenant Colonel Hassan Ibrahim Al-Asmakh, Director of Support Section; Captain Jaber Mohamed Al-Marri, Head of Education Section; and Captain Jaber Hamad Al-Marri, Civil Defense Officer in Al Wakra. The visiting delegation was welcomed to the hospital by Mr. Wilson Ross, AWH’s Chief Executive Officer and Dr. Mahmoud Al-Heidous, AWH’s Medical Director.
Dr. Al-Heidous thanked the guests commenting that such visits not only play a crucial role in patients’ psychological recovery but also reflect how the community cares for patients. He said that since its transfer to AWH, its Burns Section has become the main burns center in Qatar, providing treatments for all types of burn cases and also conducting plastic surgery when required for burns patients. He added that the Burns Section includes an intensive care unit and an operating theater specially designed for burns cases.
Brig. Al-Sulaiti said: “This visit is aimed at promoting and consolidating the mutual relationship between our department and Hamad Medical Corporation, and AWH in particular. It also offers us the opportunity to familiarize ourselves with all the issues related to the safety and security of patients, and enables us to establish any solutions that may be required to any problems that might occur in the case of disasters such as a fire.”
