3rd Year Anniversary of the HMC/SickKids International Partnership Project
Senior Executives from The Hospital for Sick Children were in Doha recently to help celebrate the 3rd anniversary of the partnership. We were joined by Ms. Mary Jo Haddad, President and CEO, Mr. Robert Harding, Chair of Board of Trustees and Ms. Cathy Seguin, Vice President of SickKids International.
A lunch was held in the project office and ended with a ceremonious cake cutting. It was a great opportunity for the project team and clinical teams to recognize the excellent work to date and to look forward to the next two years of the partnership.
HMC/SickKids International Partnership Project Annual RetreatThe HMC/SickKids Partnership Project is dynamic and continuously evolving. Our project team recognizes this and realizes that its approach must be responsive to both internal and external factors. As a result, on 16 October 2012, we held the 2nd Annual Project Team Retreat to review the accomplishments achieved during 2012 and discuss plans for 2013. The event, which was facilitated by Ms. Cindy Bruce- Barrett from SickKids International, was attended by the project team, the clinical leads and a number of SickKids Subject Matter Experts.
The day started with an overview of year three (2012). The team reviewed the progress made, the challenges encountered and the lessons learnt throughout the year. In addition, the six task forces established in 2012 were evaluated. The task forces were able to demonstrate success due to: excellent clinical leadership, multi-disciplinary membership, focused 12 month work program and identifying outcome measures. Based on the outcome of retreat, the project team proposed the introduction of eight new task forces that will focus on priority areas. The new task forces are: Child Health Research, Nursing Leadership and Practice Development, Quality, NICU, Diagnostic Imaging, Education, Adolescent Medicine and Peri-operative Services.
You will find further information about all 14 task forces in the next section 'Pediatric Clinical Programs'.
