Why is support in decision-making needed?
Supporting someone with dementia to make their own decisions is very important. Like everyone else, people living with dementia have the right to participate in all decisions that affect their lives and wellbeing. However, making decisions may become difficult due to the progression of dementia.
Sometimes this results in relatives taking over decision- making, instead of supporting people with dementia to make their own decisions.
In this lesson, you will learn how you can support the person you care for when they need to make a decision.
