Donated organs and tissue and the families that donate them are a precious resource, the lives of hundreds of transplant patients are saved each year as a result of this gift of life.
In Qatar we are very conscious of the importance of this gift of life and, as a result, have developed the Doha Donation Accord. This legislation protects the life of the donors and support the deceased donor families.
When the donor is deceased, even if they are a registered donor, it is still the right of the family/next of kin to decide whether they will allow the donation to take place.
