Working as a Person-Centered Care Specialist at Private Nursing Services has been an incredibly fulfilling journey. Serving the Qatari community, I have had the privilege of contributing to a healthcare environment that prioritizes the unique needs and preferences of each patient.
In my role, I focus on creating personalized care plans that respect and respond to the individual circumstances of our patients. This involves close collaboration with patients, their families, and our dedicated team of healthcare professionals to ensure that every aspect of care is tailored to enhance the patient's quality of life.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my job is witnessing the positive impact of our person-centered approach. By truly listening to and understanding our patients, we can provide care that not only addresses their medical needs but also supports their emotional and psychological well-being. I am Justine, and I am an advocate for Person-Centered Care (PCC) as the clinical champion. When we first started the PCC journey, I wasn't sure if it would function well in community settings where there are uncontrolled work environments. I attended a course on compassionate human interaction, and as a result, my perspective on humanity changed. Putting PCC practices into effect in the community turned out to be one of the highlights of my nursing career. Patient care significantly improved when we started working closely with patients and their families, gave them a say in joint decision-making, and included them in departmental improvements. I had to go within myself on this journey because change begins within, and it motivates me to do more when I put myself in our patients' and families' shoes. Our employees now have a voice in departmental decisions and improvements thanks to this journey. As I continue to work side by side with our patients and family, I am looking forward to the next PCC re- certification adventure. I would urge each and every patients/family to be part of this journey with us-we cannot do this alone.
