What is the Waterpipe (Argile/Shisha) Study?

The waterpipe (argile/shisha) study is a multi-year community-based research study that examines the health effects of waterpipe (argile/shisha) smoking.

 

This study will specifically evaluate the association of waterpipe (argile/shisha) smoking with markers of early and future cardiovascular and respiratory disease.

 

The waterpipe (argile/shisha) study is led by Dr Hassan Chami, from the American University of Beirut, Beirut Lebanon, and by Dr Ahmad Al Mullah, from Hamad Medical Corporation, and is funded by the Qatar National Research Fund, a member of the Qatar Foundation.
