Call for Abstract

We invite researchers and professionals in the field of transfusion medicine to submit abstracts for poster presentations at the Pan-Arab Transfusion Medicine Conference 2024. This conference offers a valuable opportunity to showcase your research innovations and contributions to an international audience of experts.

Abstract Submission Guidelines:

We are accepting submissions on various topics related to transfusion medicine, such as clinical transfusion, donor & donation management, transfusion-transmitted diseases, immunohematology, quality improvements, information technology, blood safety, and innovation in transfusion medicine. Abstracts should align with the overall theme of the conference.

a. Submission Details:

  • Deadline: Submit all abstracts by 7 November 2024.
  • Language: Abstracts should be written in professional English.
  • Word Limit: Abstracts must not exceed 300 words.
  • Structure: Organize the abstract with the following sections:
    • Background/Case Studies - details about the objectives or reasons for the study.
    • Methods - explanation of the primary methods used in the study.
    • Results - a summary of the key outcomes observed.
    • Conclusion - a statement of the author(s)’ conclusion based on the presented results.
  • File Format: Submit in PDF or JPEG.
  • Originality: The work must be original and not previously published or presented.
  • Approval: Ensure all co-authors are informed and approve the abstract before submission.

b. Evaluation Criteria:

Your abstract will be assessed based on the following:

  • Relevance: How well does the research align with the conference theme.
  • Scientific Quality: Is the research original, methodologically sound, and significant.
  • Clarity: Is the abstract well-organized and easy to understand.
  • Impact: What are the potential implications of the findings.
  • Innovation: Does the research introduce new approaches or insights.
  • Ethics: Does the research follow ethical guidelines, particularly for studies involving human or animal subjects.

c. Evaluation Process:

Once submitted, your abstract will undergo an initial review to ensure it meets the submission guidelines. Afterward, it will be evaluated by a panel of experts in transfusion medicine.

  • Notification: Abstract decisions will be communicated via email.
  • Poster Presentations: Accepted posters will be displayed throughout the conference.

d. Poster Design Guidelines:

If accepted, abstracts must be presented at the Pan-Arab Conference. The presenting author is responsible for preparing their poster (if selected). All posters must remain displayed for the entire designated period and cannot be removed early for any reason. Please follow these guidelines to ensure clarity and engagement:

  • Size: Posters should be A0 size (portrait orientation) and saved as a PDF.
  • Title & Authors: Ensure the title is clear and all authors and affiliations are listed.
  • Font Size: Use font Arial at least 36 pt for the title and the smallest letters should be at least 18 pt for the body text and easy to read.
  • Visuals: Include high-quality images, graphs, and charts to clearly represent your data.
  • Arrangements: The poster should have a clear flow of information, moving from left to right. Use bullet points and short paragraphs to make the content easy to read. Highlight key points using lines, frames, contrasting colors, or arrows.
  • Background: The poster background should be plain to ensure legibility.
  • Color Contrast: Use contrasting colors to ensure the text and visuals are easy to read from a distance.
  • Citations: Properly cite any external sources or data.

As a poster presenter, ensure you are present at your poster to discuss your work and answer questions. You will be expected to engage with conference attendees during the scheduled times.​​
