Wound Care Nurse
Ms. Smitha is a registered nurse with sixteen years of experience in nursing. She has been working as a wound care nurse in the Outpatient wound care service of Hamad General Hospital since January 2015.
She completed her Diploma in Nursing from Bombay Nurses Training Institute, Bombay, India and completed her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of Calgary in Qatar. For the last fourteen years of her nursing profession she has been working as a critical care nurse. She joined Hamad Medical Corporation in 2006 as a staff nurse in the Surgical Intensive care Unit.
She has attended many local and international training and conferences related to wound care. She has recently attended the European Wound Management Association Conference, EWMA 2016, Germany, and Facing the Global Challenge of the Diabetic Foot Ulcers Meeting, Dubai, UAE in September 2015.
Smitha is dedicated to the nursing profession and committed to a nursing culture of excellence, the value of professionalism, quality outcomes and collaborative practice with patient/family centered care. She is also an editorial board member of The Nurse Advocate, HMC’s magazine ‘by nurses, for nurses’.
