Dr. Ibrahim Al-Hammadi is a physician, with experience in public health, community and preventive medicine at the Ministry of Public Health in Kuwait.
His interest in the health and welfare of older adults has led him to take up strategic roles and responsibilities within the Ministry of Health, including:
- WHO focal point for older adult health services in Kuwait
- Member in the Higher National Committee of Older Adult Health Services in Kuwait
- Member in the medical committee of older adult health between the ministry of social affairs and MOH
- Member in Gulf Corporation Council (GCC) committee of older adult health services, Ministry of Health - Kuwait representative
- Member in the National Health Surveys Team responsible of older adults
- Lead for the Alder Adult Abuse Prevention project in Kuwait
- Co-writer of Kuwait (chapter 8), (Population Aging in the Middle East and North Africa, research and policy implications).
- Member of Shaikh Jaber Al-Ali Kuwait Society for Alzheimer’s
- Team leader in building up the national strategic plan for older adult in Kuwait
