Dr. Yolande Pijnenburg is a cognitive neurologist working at the Alzheimer Center at the VU University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

She is a specialist in early-onset dementia. Her main focus of interest is frontotemporal dementia and its psychiatric diagnosis.

Dr. Pijnenburg is faculty chair on early onset dementia at Amsterdam UMC since October 2020, where she leads the clinical and translational research into dementia, especially at a young age, around the themes:

(A) looking for the origin,

(B) diagnosis & prognosis

(C) treatment & prevention.

The research is highly translational in nature, and closely collaborating with other pillars, such as "Brain imaging", "Complex trait genetics" and "Cellular and molecular mechanisms "within the research institute Amsterdam Neuroscience.
