Dr. Shafi Hashmath Ulla Khan joined HMC in 2016 after extensive post-graduate training in Geriatric Medicine, Internal Medicine & Stroke Medicine in the UK Midlands.
Dr. Khan was appointed as the Program Director for the Fellowship Program in 2017 and has led the program towards being ACGME-I accredited. The successful graduate education program has received continued accreditation with the combined the support of the Chairperson, Faculty & Fellows. He has an active role in teaching Medical Students and has been appointed as Assistant Professor of Weil Cornell Medicine - Qatar (WCM-Q).
Dr. Khan was appointed as the Assistant Chairperson of the Department of Geriatrics & Long-term care in 2018 to support the leadership and service development initiatives of the department. In December 2020 he oversaw the integration of the Mobile Health Service into the Home Health Care Service, under the guidance of Dr Hanadi Al Hamad & Dr Essa Al Sulaiti.
Dr. Khan has a wide variety of clinical and academic including Acute Geriatrics, Long-Term Care, Memory Services, Teaching, Research and Quality Improvement.
