Guillaume Alinier, PhD, MPhys (Hons), PGCert, SFHEA, NTF (2006)
Guillaume Alinier has an academic career spanning overnearly25 years, with a keen interest and broad experience in research. He was instrumental in introducing scenario-based simulation education at the University of Hertfordshire in 2000 and then led the development of its multiprofessional clinical simulation centre.
He experienced was used in Qatar to help design the Sidra Medicine simulation centre. Since joining Hamad Medical Corporation, he has been involved in numerous simulation-based activities, notably contributing to organizing multiple full-scale and tabletop simulated major incidents but also being part of the team that helped establish the various components of the ExtraCorporeal Membrane Oxygenation training programme and leading the development of innovative ECMO simulation education technology.
He is Director of Research at Hamad Medical Corporation Ambulance Service, Doha, Qatar but also holds visiting professorships in the UK with the University of Hertfordshire and Northumbria University, as well as being Adjunct Professor of Education in Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar. He has contributed to several major simulation publications and initiatives led by key healthcare simulation societies such as the Society for Simulation in Healthcare, the Society for Simulation Applied to Medicine, the Association for Simulated Practice in Healthcare, and the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning, and has also published two books ondebriefing(https://scholar.google.com/citations?hl=en&user=9SMHCwEAAAAJ).
