Call for abstracts
Authors are invited to submit poster abstracts of their original research, quality improvement data, and educational initiatives on topics related to sepsis recognition or management.
Accepted posters will be displayed during the two days of the symposium.
Submission Instructions:
Abstracts should be submitted in English, up to 400 words long, including brief information on the following sections:
- Title
- Background
- Aim
- Methods, Results
- Conclusion
- All authors must complete a conflict of interest disclosure
- Poster specifications will be provided upon acceptance of the abstract
Key Dates:
25 August 2022 - Final abstract submission deadline
28 August 2022 - Authors will be notified via email if their submission has been accepted by the panel of judges to enable them to finalize their posters.
11 September 2022 - Authors should email a soft copy of their poster to
SepsisSymposium@hamad.qa for inclusion on the symposium website.
11 September 2022 - Authors should deliver a printed poster to the Medical Education Center to place on the poster display boards in the poster exhibition area.

Abstract Submission Guidelines
- Abstracts should be submitted online using the abstract template available on the conference website. Only in MS Word or PDF formats will be accepted.
- Abstracts must be submitted in English, and content should have a maximum of 400 words.
- Abstracts should be no longer than one A4 page in portrait layout.
- The title of the abstract should be as concise as possible and should appear in bold at the top of the page.
- Please include the full contact details of the main author (the presenting author) and add co-authors in the designated fields provided, including full names, titles, and affiliations.
- No references, tables or graphics should be included in the abstract.
- When using abbreviations within the body of the abstract, please spell out the name in full at first mention and follow with the abbreviation in parenthesis.
- It is the responsibility of the author to ensure the abstract text does not contain any typos or grammatical errors.
- All authors are responsible for ensuring accuracy of data and proper authorization of data disclosure
- No changes can be made after the abstract deadline has passed.
- Please note the judges’ decisions are final.
- Poster authors are expected to be next to their posters during the lunch breaks to offer explanations to interested delegates
