Program Overview
The uveitis and medical Retina subspecialists manage the entire spectrum of the disease, with an ability to treat complex uveitis / retinal and anterior segment cases in relation to underlying systemic and ocular conditions.
Fellows of this program expected to see the full spectrum pathology, from the routine and common to the unusual and complex, infectious, and non-infectious anterior, intermediate, posterior and panuveitis, ocular manifestations of common systemic diseases like Diabetic retinopathy, Ocular TB presentation and ocular involvement of connective tissue diseases and will cover all age groups including pediatric patients.
Fellows will be trained in both medical, surgical, diagnostic and therapeutic modalities including the appropriate use of laboratory investigations and ancillary testing, the application and interpretation of advanced multimodal ophthalmology imaging, the safe and effective implementation of immunomodulatory therapy including classical immunomodulators agents and biologicals, and proficiency with cataract surgery for uveitis cases , anterior chamber diagnostic tap , and vitreous injections and biopsy techniques and the implantation of sustained-release intravitreal steroid and antibiotics devices .
