The Heart Hospital proudly celebrated a defining moment, a historic milestone in Qatar’s medical history - the successful completion of the country's first heart transplant on 6 May 2025. While the clinical achievement itself was monumental, the recognition event in its honor reflected something deeper: a person-centered care (PCC) approach that values and honors the people behind the care.
The celebration was a PCC-driven expression of gratitude to the multidisciplinary transplant team, whose dedication, collaboration, and compassion made this achievement possible. It emphasized the importance of recognizing staff contributions, well-being, and team spirit, all of which are core for creating a healing environment for both patients and caregivers.
The leadership of Heart Hospital, spearheaded by its CEO and Medical Director, Dr. Nidal Asaad, Executive Director, Mr. Mohd Al Neama, and Senior Consultant and lead transplant surgeon, Dr. Ali Kindawi, came together to thank the team and cut a celebratory cake in the presence of staff from all levels—reinforcing the value of inclusivity and mutual respect.
A shared lunch followed, bringing together clinical and non-clinical staff in a relaxed, collegial setting—an expression of the hospital’s ongoing commitment to fostering staff engagement and well-being as an essential part of delivering person-centered care.
This celebration not only commemorates a medical breakthrough, but also demonstrates Heart Hospital’s continued investment in the people who enable healing—its staff.
