The Day Care Unit promotes excellence in the care of adult oncology and hematology patients by providing high-quality diagnoses and treatment.
The unit is open six days a week under the supervision of an oncologist (cancer specialist) and a hematologist (blood disease specialist). There are 14 beds for inpatient care and we see more than 610 patients per month. The unit works closely with other specialists within the hospital including those from the pharmacy, physiotherapy and radiation oncology departments.
We are specialized in diagnostic interventions and in the administration of chemotherapy and other supportive medications.
An additional focus is palliative care, where we attempt to relieve pain in all areas of a patient’s life.
