Dr. Einas Abdul Aziz Al-Kuwari, MD, FCAP, FRCPc
Dr. Einas Al-Kuwari received her Medical Degree from Arabian Gulf University in Kingdom of Bahrain. She completed her 5-year residency in Anatomical Pathology at University of Ottawa, Canada. In addition, she had 2 years of fellowship from McGill University, Montreal, Canada in Cytopathology and Hematopathology. She is a fellow of the Royal College of physicians and surgeons of Canada (F.R.C.P.C.) and College of American Pathologists (F.C.A.P).
Dr. Einas Al-Kuwari is the first Qatari western-qualified Pathologist and most senior Qatari pathologist at HMC with more than 20 years’ experience.
Dr. Einas Al Kuwari has numerous peer reviewed publications in her specialty and is an active clinical researcher collaborating on diverse projects with local, regional and international committees. In 2007 she was awarded the “Hugh Carrie Award” for the best scientific paper submitted at the 16th International Congress of Cytology in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Dr. Einas Al Kuwari was also awarded the Hamad Medical Corporation’s “Best Teacher Award” in 2009.
Currently, she is the Chair of Clinical Services DLMP of the Department of Laboratory Medicine & Pathology (DLMP) and senior consultant in Anatomical Pathology. DLMP has a staff strength of over 1000 personnel placed across 14 hospitals and paediatric emergency centres. This incorporates 29 Specialty Sections with Core Diagnostics Laboratories and 6 National Health Programs.
During the COVID 19 global pandemic, Dr. Einas Al Kuwari was awarded a national recognition award for outstanding and pioneering work in the battle against the global challenge in terms of the preparedness and contribution to its management and control. She received Certificates of high commendation and appreciation in recognition of her dedicated services as the SWICC Committee Member of Covid-19 pandemic response Qatar 2020. Under her leadership the DLMP continues to provide all diagnostic services for Covid 19 testing for pre and post vaccination of public, travellers, visitors and all major events in Qatar. A specialized molecular Infectious Diseases unit has been strengthened and expanded to protect the country from all emerging and re-emerging pathogens in the future.
